Description
Studio Orry, in collaboration with Egwu Records, has pressed a special vinyl edition of the soundscape that welcomed guests into the heart of Orry Shenjobi’s acclaimed 2024 À Wá Ǹbé exhibition, debuted at the Venice Biennale.
Rooted in the legacy of Tunde Nightingale; the father of Òwàmbè and a pioneering figure in Jùjú music; this soundscape is a modern tribute to Nightingale’s enduring musical influence and honours the ethos of the exhibition: celebrating the richness and vibrancy of Nigerian culture.
Reimagined by Yinka Bernie, under the direction of Orry Shenjobi and the exhibition’s curator, Usen Esiet, it blends live instrumentation with archival spirit, carrying the rhythm of our culture into the present.
